Anyone have any experience with their bow hatch leaking? Mine leaks very slightly when washing the boat or when it rains. Plan on pulling it out and trying to re-seal it. Has anyone done this? Any advice or suggestions? Rod |

Do you mean the hatch on top of the bow deck that is directly over the cuddy cabin? ALthough so far no leaks with the Vista, I did have a small leak on my 1993 215 Sundowner hatch, mostly when I would hose it down like you mentioned. I ordered a new rubber gasket from my dealer and that solved the problem. I did not have to pull the hatch out. |

Giaccamo, yes it the hatch on the bow deck. I took the hatch cover off and removed all the screws top side and from inside the cuddy. Thought with a little encouragment, the hatch frame would just pop out, but no way. It is sealed in place with super sealant. Anyway, I cleaned the whole thing up as best I could, applied silicone to all the screws and reinstalled them. I also treated the rubber hatch seal with a silicone product for weather stripping. We'll see if it is problem solved, if not, I'll do as you did and replace the rubber seal. Thanks, Rod |
