Hi

Hoping somebody can help out - I have a Sundowner 205 2004 model, with 5.0 Mercruiser inboard

Is there a way to flush this engine without turning it on - ie remove the salt water?
Or is it ok to dry dock without flushing?

thank you.

I would never put my boat away after a day on the ocean without running it in fresh water first. On my engine a 5.7 G something fuel injected there is a blue waterhose connect in the engine compartment that is used from what I have been told to flush the manifolds with fresh water without turning on the engine. I don't use it because I find it pretty easy to put the drive down, connect the muffs and flush it out with the engine on. I don't run the engine while on the muffs too much and I keep an eye on the temp gauge. The blue hose connect might achieve the same results of flushing the engine but I just like to hear it on and running well before I put her away.

Mine came with, I may spell it wrong, a nutra-salt system. My boat stays at the slip all season. So every time I go out, upon returning, I use the nutra-salt.
