Finally completed the bottom sanding and painting project on the V358.

Had the marina seal it with blister guard and then a few coats of Petit Vivid White.

Only time will tell how easy it is to clean. . . or stay vivid white.

It looks very nice now. Never have been sold on the vivid white bottoms on some boats in our area. They do stain a little over
the course of the season, but it depends on what type of water you are in I imagine.

Your Vivid white looks good on your boat. In our boating area of the fresh water Great Lakes, I couldn't get away with a white bottom paint.

One nice feature of a dark colored antifouling bottom paint - you won't see the tea staining and fouling growth as easy.

Hopefully in your boating area the fouling is minimal.

White, hmm, good luck with that. I know it'd never work around here.

What I did was had it barrier painted, twice. Then ablative red once and ablative black twice. So now I have the red layer as an 'indicator' when the two coats of black have worn off.

I just painted mine with antifouling paint...... But the heavens opened just after painting and it has all run in streaks ... Oh well, just have to wait for the next sunny/dry day here in Ireland…. Could be next year 

The Vivid paint is a hard paint. Don't you want to use a ablative paint?? Almost like Bill, I used a hard paint. black, as my first coat. Than I used a blue ablative paint. The whole idea is, after a few years, there is not a heavy build up of paint.

Once again, you are mis leading this board. It's not a traditional hard paint. Read this from the Petit website:

YES, you are right!! When this first came out, it was only offered in a hard paint and thats what I was thinking of.

Not to change the subject. I have tried, many brands of paint on my out drive. After 2 or 3 months, the growth is building back up.

Last spring, I tried this http://www.ipaint.us/ansp.html after 4 months, almost no growth!!

Yep, I'm in Georgia. Keep her at Port Royale Marina on Lake Lanier.

Scum line has already started to develop around the water line. Simply wipes off with a rag at this point. Since the paint was rolled on, it has the little bumps in it like you get when you roll paint on your walls at home. I wish it had been sprayed on, but it is what it is. I can see those little pockets being a PITA to clean later on.

I'll give updates on this product as time goes on. As long as it doesn't turn lake water GREEN, i'll be happy.
