Hi there, I have a 238 vista 1998, boat was running good, went to start it this morning and it wouldn't run, it would turn over but not catch to run.
Do you need to disconnect the shore power in order to start the boat?

Shore power should have nothing to do with it.
Must be fuel problem or ignition problem.
If it did not try to fire at all, then ignition problem is most likely.

Sounds electrical. Check your coil!

I just had the same problem and had corrosion on the distributor cap. cleaned it off and the engine cranked right up.

I had the same problem. The lanyard safety clip was only half way on!! Make sure the clip is all the way on the small button. I messed with my boat for about 30 minutes before I figured it out :?
