If the CDs work fine and your getting sound I don't see how swapping the uints will do anything. The problem will fellow the unit. Its not a speaker or power problem. It sounds like the unit itself.

Agreed, unless it's something in the antenna connection/wiring...

Good morning Paul I., CD is working I do have sound, I don't have any statics on radio nothing but I do see all channels flipping/searching but it does not want to "catch" an air channel.. our season here opens May 15.. I might be able to go inside our boat mid April. I'll post the results. Thanks all for your help.

Than check the antenna or swap the antenna out with the other unit. Very easy too do. It now sounds the the antenna. The unit is not getting any radio signals so it just searches for one.

If you end up replacing it, look into Fusion. BUT, it would be cheaper and easier to stick with the same brand.

Check the radio is set up to search for radio transmissions for your region ! Allthough the frequency range used is the almost exactly the same, the frequency intervals used within that range are different. When we first got it, the Clarion radio on our 2004 245 would not pick up any radio channels; it searched and searched but would not lock on to any. It turned out it was set up for the US ( by default). Resetting it to search for the Europe frequency intervals solved it.

Remember, Graham is in the U.K. I believe the U.S. setting will be fine for you. Check the setting against the other unit, too easy not to do. I still think, antenna is most likely than the head unit. Any bets!!!

Benoit, is this the radio you have on board...

I just picked up our boat this past weekend and it's the same model radio. Everything works great, even the previous owner's sirius radio! Let me know what I could do to help possibly.
