Lou,

Unfortunately tin based antifoul paints are not allowed here either.( except for military applications as they need something that actually works !)

Lou,

Incidentally. tributyl tin oxide is still quite freely available from chemical suppliers; used for a number of boring synthesis/ reactions ! Unthinkable of course that someone would think to use it as an additive in their useless antifoul paint they'd paid $$$$$$ for or in some equally effective domestic paint !

Should I expect a knock on the door from the FBI or worse for mentioning this ?

I recently bought a 2005 348 with 5.7 Volvo stern drives. There were a few electrical gremlins when I purchased it (gauges jumping around), and since then some further loose connection issues, but nothing that tightening connections did not solve. A broken headrest was solved with some trial and error work. The boat is still a good choice, having moved up from a 2860 Regal - very roomy, and in my and others opinion, "good looking". I am in central Ontario, so salt water is not an issue and the stern drives have been good for me so far, with the understanding that there will be eventual costs - but that is boating.

Some items that are electrical in nature have been wired to the wrong connection, and I suggest before thinking something does not work, that you switch everything on, and see if the outlet or whatever it is now works. I have found a few things like this that are easier to re-label than pay to find out It did not have it switched on.
