I had purchased a Magma Newport infrared grill 5 years ago when I had my 268 Vista. I had some intermittent issues with the grill but nothing I would consider significant. Now that the grill is approximately 5 years old and "well seasoned", I continue to have the flame blow out in conditions with even the slightest of breezes when out on the hook. After a quick web search, I noticed my problem was a common issue. I called Magma support and explained my situation, sent a few photos of the grill at their request and was quite surprised by the proposed resolution. They are sending me a new burner, redesigned grill grates and a modified grease trap baffle. I do not know if the problem will be fixed by the replacement parts but I must say that I was impressed with the level of customer service received for a 5 year old grill. I just wanted to share a positive customer service experience.

Good to know. I made a cheapskate mistake and bought a kuuma... very dissatisfied.... blows out all the time, grease doesn't go into the trap if the boat is listing and it leaks out the corners which requires me to go out in the dink and wash the grease off the side so it doesn't stain, too much.
Old adage, you get what you pay for. I might do the same thing you did and contact them.

My Magma Newport Infrared grill also has had a tendency to blow out easily. I wound up rolling and crumpling up 2 pieces of aluminum foil and put them in the front and back sides of the grill between the bottom of the grill and the grease tray. This creates a wind break to block the wind from blowing up through the bottom opening of the fire box and blowing out the fire. There is still adequate air flow so the grill is capable of full heat, and I have not had it blow out since. It's not a very pretty installation, but it works.

I have removed the flame tube a couple times and cleaned the holes with a wire brush to remove rust and scale.
