i noticed on the new vistas they had some cool blue led lights on the swinm deck. has anyone tried to retro -fit these to a older model

You should really check these out, if you are into some trick lighting. I think the OceanLED line is pretty pricey though. Awful cool looking I think, but the legality of night travel seems as though it could be iffy.
The lighting you mention from FW I suspect is the optional swim platform lighting and I don't think it is installed below the waterline as is the case with OceanLED. Probably a good thing - just another place to leak. I ordered it for mine because it is reasonably priced (compared to aftermarket) so hopefully it is pretty cool.
I expect it would be a great surprise for those first-time late night skinny-dippers - What Lights? Oh yeah I See . . . New boat ladies, I have no idea how they turned on . . . . or how to turn them off - and thats why the admiral gave me this black eye!
