Strangest thing happened...I put my boat in the water for five minutes last weekend, then decided the winds were not going to stop so I pulled it out. because I didn't do my normal routine I forgot to take the plug out until I returned to my storage lot. When I pulled it water started coming out? I waited....and waited....and waited...water kept running out. I already had the cover on and it was getting late so I said I'll take a look next time.

Put the boat in on Saturday and first thing I popped the engine hatch and saw water dripping off of a riser...odd the boat was running? As I started feeling around to see where the water was coming from I started feeling it on the back of my hand??? The water was spraying out from a hose on my fresh water water heater and hitting the log! I realized after that my fresh water switch had been turned on (and had probably been on for the whole time my battery switch was on)

So I taped it up for the day and enjoyed a good day on the lake, but now what?

Is there a repair (It was only a pinhole) and this hose looks very difficult to reach without removing the water heater.
And where could I get the hose even if I could replace it?

That kind of looks like Pex tubing? The fitting looks like something used on pool pumps et.

If it's just a pin hole, you might be able to fix it with Epoxy plumbers putty or Eternabond RV roof tape.

The other thing I see on Deadliest Catch is to put a piece of rubber sheeting over it and use hose clamps to secure and seal.

I would go to Home Depot and get a Shark Bite coupling. Cut the hose at the pin hole and insert thecoupling. It is a push fitting.

Good call. I haven't gotten used to those being available and I just used one to replace my 3/4" main shut off in the house. Great product.

I agree, there is I need to replace the entire line, just cut out the bad section and get a coupler to join it back together.

Before you cut the line I suggest you pull up the manual and figure out what size of line it is. I recently added shutoff valves in the galley and found out the hard way that my hot and cold lines are a metric size (not 3/4")... The fittings are not available at any hardware store.

Something I purchased this winter, and should have put on my boat by now, is a stop leak tape available at west marine. I used it on an air line on my compressor and was shocked how well it hed up.

Thanks for the advice. The Shark bite coupler seems like the way to go. Now I just need to find out what size the line is...
