I am meeting with a guy tomorrow that ownes a 315 vista that is parked at a marina I have been looking at. Is there anyone that has one of these that can tell me what to look for? there is alot of cosmetic things that need fixed but nothing major i have seen... I WILL get a survey done before i buy this boat. The only thing i have noticed is there is a hatch in the carpet in the cabin that seems to give access to a box with hoses coming from it and a bilge pump, in this hatch there is an inch and a half of water that has found its way in there... is this normal? wear could this water have come from?

That is probably the centre/forward sump that collects from the shower, sink and aircon. Normal to have a puddle there as the sump pump doesn't clear it to dry.
Is there water in the main bilge? If so check on steering pivot pin seals and transom shield corrosion.

boat is out of the water and the main rear bilge is dry as a bone....but that front area is not...not sure why there is water in there up front... the steering pivot pin would not allow water that much foward would it??? woulnds the rear bilge take care of that first??

As GI Auz said, that box is the shower sump that collects water from the sink/shower, etc. The water should be contained in that box and be pumped out. My boat has one as well but the pump inside the box wasn't working so the water would overflow out of the box and end up in the forward bilge area. My forward bilge pump (separate from the shower sump) wasn't working either so it didn't pump out the water.
