The rear seat on my Vista 278 folds up and pivots using two gas struts. One of the struts has come disconnected because a fastener came off the back side. The picture below shows how the good one is fastened. What is this fastener? Also how do I find one and more importantly how does it go over the end of the piece that pushes through the hole? I've been struggling with this all year and it's becoming a PITA.

Have you looked through the parts guide for your boat on the FW site? Might help you sort things out.

That looks like a lock washer that is held in place by a swaged-in-place nut or fitting. The lock washer is there to keep the nut or fitting from spinning. Is the back side accessible? What does the other side look like? You may have to disassemble some parts of the seat to get at the fasteners. If the original hardware is missing and you can't find it listed in the Four Winns Parts Listing, you might have to partially disassemble the other one to find the right size and type of fastener. Most hardware stores should have a stainless hardware section. You might be able to find something that should work.
