Hi Guys,

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have a 2007 Vista with a couple of Small issues. If you can help with any below it would be much appreciated.

1) The NEC TV/DVD is blown in the cabin and its mounted against the toilet wall. How do I remove it to fit a new one ?
2) My boat came with a Navman Tracker 5507 GPS and the backlit wasnt working so it was dark. I purchased a brand new one and it only worked for 5 minutes and then the backlit went on that one as well ?
3) In the panel in the cabin there is a red light flashing saying Galvanic Fault ? What is this and is it dangerous ?

Thanks guys,

Lee

#1.
Look behind the tv. You should see some small phillips head screws. Take them out and the tv will come off of the brkt.

#2
Does the unit come on but you can't see anything?
Back light setting may be set to low. Look in the manual at section 2-2 page 12 and section 2-4 page 13

#3
Galvanic Fault. If you are hooked up to shore power this lite should turn to green. You might have to look real close to see green. When not on shore power and just on batteries it will be red.

The screws for the TV bracket are on the sides. Hard to see without a good flashlight. You will need a long phillips screwdriver.

- Thanks I was down there earlier and looked all around extensively and couldnt find anything. I will try
what TheDanceII said earlier and stick a phillips head in the side even though I cant see any.

The backlit settings are up full and its not on night mode. When I went down there today the back light worked again for a few minutes then it went off, So its obviously not blown. I cant think what might be causing this.

- Thanks I think I worked this out. Its just when I turned the batteries on.

Thanks guys.

#3 I'm late to this post but I know on mine the light flashes infrequently but all the time when its not plugged it. When you plug in to shore power it should turn green. Very faint though so you really have to look in the dark.
I am pretty sure it works because I visited a marina and everything worked fine until another boat came in and plugged in. They had a system problem and sent stray current into the water enough to trigger my galvanic isolator to show a fault flashed red more frequently then when unplugged. After they unplugged the boat with the problem it went back to green.

That's a tough one. Can you post some pics? I am pretty sure my TV was not factory and they used a regular vesa wall mount. I just replaced the TV this summer with 24" and it fits perfectly.
You can try taking off the mirror in the head. If I remember it just slide up and out. It was pretty easy but be careful its on there tight. You may find the attachments behind there and replace the whole wall mount.

Look in the head. I had a 2007 V256 a few years ago. It was ether screwed the wall (its plywood) or I had blind nuts in the head. I don't remember, but I did replace it.

I don't recall using tools and it just lifted off but it was a couple years ago I did it. Mine is all buttoned up and a distance away so I can't check for you. I do remember it being stuck on there pretty good, assuming so it doesn't bounce off.
There is a thread on this site somewhere for posting pics. You have to host the pic on another site and post the link.

Look from the left side of the TV. You may have to pull out on it with a little force to get enough room between the back of the TV and the wall. That DVD player is large on the side of the TV and is blocking your view.
It has to have a regular mount based on the angle that the TV is hanging down. If it were thru bolted direct to the TV I would think the TV would be flush against the back of the wall and tight into the padding even at the top of the TV.

If all else fails, you can remove the wall the TV is mounted to by removing the screws from inside the Bathroom behind the mirror and the screws at the end of the shelf above the window that mount the shelf on the side of the boat. Then you might be able to remove the whole TV with bracket from the wall.

Mine is a little different. My original TV did not have the DVD built in. My DVD is separate on my early built 2007 278.

Also, with the wall out, it would give you a chance to rerun all the wires behind the wall and thru to the TV for a cleaner look.

Thats it, the mirror. If I remember right, its screwed to the wall. I did replace the T.V. and its not that hard. Just a pain to do.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your help.

I pulled off the mirror and there were a few screws into the wall.

In the end I had to remove the internal shelves in the front cabin as well as they were
wedged against the panel I had to remove and screwed in.

The TV ended up being bolted behind the wall so I had to pull the wall off. There would have been
no way around it.

I havent put it all back together yet but its a start.

Thanks again,

Lee
