I want to pass along a place to start trouble shooting. I had a similar issue on a 2002 268 Vista and figured it was the heating element. I replaced the element and still did not have hot water. It ended up being the electrical connection plug behind the water heater. There was a plug that connects the water heater to the 110/220 house line. It is a flat connector and it had come apart just enough to break the circuit. Something to check.
