I have a question regarding the optional aft fill cushion; the owner’s manual is less than helpful. Our new V248 came with two white “boards” which both appear to have the female part of a table mount attached to them, along with the white cushion. There are no detailed directions; are the “boards” designed to mount by two short table posts and slide into the two rear table post brackets that are located in the aft deck seating area? If so we never received anything but the table post for the forward and aft dining tables; both posts would be too tall for this purpose anyway. Does anybody own this option? I may be making this more complicated than it is but I am at a loss to how to use it? Any help, photos, direction would be helpful.

When using the aft 'fill in cushion' on our boat, we do not use any posts. The white boards you talk about fill in the area to suport the cushion and rest on rails both forward and aft of the U-shaped seating area. Maybe yours is designed a bit different than ours??? Later today I will be working on the boat and will try to post a photo.

That was my first thought though we don’t have a horseshoe style seating area in the boat; just two seats facing each other. The problem would be that there is no lip to hold the “boards” on each apposing aft seat. This would mean that the filler cushion would sit up higher than the two seats; also, there would be nothing from keeping the "boards" form moving and sliding off the two seats. My other thought is why would Four Winns put useless female style table mount brackets on each “board” if they are not intended to be used.

I heard back from the dealer; there was indeed suppose to be two short table post “legs” to hold up the filler boards. The 2008 filler is different than the older 248 style filler.
