Hello!

I have just ordered a brand new Vista 258 from my Norwegian dealer. The boat will be delivered 7. May. Can't wait...
Based one some helpfull treads in this forum, i picked the Volvo 5,7Gxi 320HP with fresh water cooling.

Then i suddenly remeber that i didn't se the engine compartment when i visted my dealer and the demo boat i saw is now sold :?

Could anyone please provide me with some pictures of the engine compartment? It dosent matter wich engine you have, i just want to se the compartment and space...

[Edit] What speed could i expect with this engine?

Regards
Captain Chaos

Welcome Capt. Chaos.
Sorry I can't answer any of your questions as my 298 is different but I'm sure someone will respond.
Nice choice of vessel though. We all want to see pictures once you take delivery.
Cheers,

Pete

With the engine you have. Expect top speed 41 to 44 mph(66 to 71kph) with an F4 prop set.
At WOT it will burn 24gph of fuel, Crusing speed 28 mph it will burn 11 gph @ 3500 rpm.

Nice! Just what i hoped :-)

I will certainly provide You with a lot of pictures of my new lady. Just heard from the factory yesterday and the production will be finished the 28 april, and shipped one week later. My dealer says that it will be her in the end of may. 14 days later than expected earlier... Not good news but because of a weak dollar and a strong Euro the ships to europe are full. American boats is really nice priced theese days. :) I have saved about 20.000 dollars comparde to last years prices on the V258 :-)

Navigation package
Standard seating (more storage space)
Stereo upgrade with 6Disc changer and remote at transom

Black canavs package
Overboard discharge and tank level indicators

Very nice choice. We have the 2007 258 with pretty much the same set-up. We did order the tower and after some tests, we re-proped to an F3 for a better hole shot. I realize this is not a water sports boat but it did help. We top out at about 38-40 mph w/ bottom paint. The F4 ran fine for general cruising. When I get a chance, I will get a picture of the engine compartment. I did add an extra storage bin where the gen set goes to store extra stuff including jumper cables and extra oil.

I have the same engine configuration that you have. Also everything major except the alcohol stove, and the 6disc changer. I also got the genset. You will be very happy with the boat. Plenty of power and handles very well. Congratulations!!

Good news from my dealer today :-) FW managed to get my boat on a ship earlier than expected. They guess that it will be in Norway 20 of may.
I sold my old boat, a 01 Rinker CC 232 a few days ago, so there is no boating for me theese days...painfull days, we have extreeme nice conditions and weather in south of Norway theese days, with 23-24 degrees celcius, and wind from 0-3 m/sec. Guess it will rain several weeks from the 20 of may... ;)

I still hope one of you could provide me with som pictures of the engine compartment. I am planning to install a generator (FW can't deliver 220V generators) and a rear mounted windlass with anchor. If there are any space left, i am consediring to mout a bin or somthing for additional storgage space.

Regards
