Mr. Dimichele, You seem to be quite confused. Let me help.

The FW 278 Vista has a forward V-dinette that converts to a V-berth.
The FW 278 with ESP is nearly 29 foot long.
The FW 278 has more "wetted surface" than the 248/258 or Doral

So, since you stated your preferences, and the 278 fits all of them exactly,
except for the 9'4" beam, to answer my original question, should FW make a
wider beam in the coming year for the 278 Vista ?

Do you always come across as having an attitude or is it just me? I don't expect or appreciate snotty replies from you in this and other posts.

No, the 278 does not fit my needs and would not be an upgrade for me. There are many other design considerations which make the Venezia a better fit for me. But at this point in time the Venezia isn't any longer than what I have, and the 278 doesn't do it for me. I am sure perspective 278 owners would appreciate more beam though.

I have never been accused of having an attitude, until now. It isjust you, and how you read things into what people say. I asked a simple question, you failed to answer it, and went off on another tangent unrelated to the original question. And your facts were in correct. I was merely setting the record straight. It is a shame it took this many replies for you to answer the question . I'm glad you finally got it. As far as a snotty response, you are incorrect once again. Nothing out of line with what I said, you can take however you like. Thank You for your participation.

Thanks to those that responded to the original question. Some good comments, and that was my intent when I posted this.

Doral has priced themselves right out of the game.

Agreed, that kept us from considering them. That and liking the FW better anyway.

Ditto, Cap'n Morgan and wkearney!! I completely agree!

No, he's right on the money. Perhaps not with just that posting alone, but across a number of them. The whole 'piss in your wheaties', 'thank for your participation' and snarky comments all add to the dislike you're fostering. I'm sure you're a great guy in person, but in text forums that often gets lost. Hell, I'm certainly familiar with the disconnect, we're all less than perfect.

Some folks are offering advice, consider why.

Glad I am not crazy (well, ok, my mental well being has nothing to do with it)

I am VERY reserved on this forum.. Just like a dog won't crap where it lies (in theory) I try to be on my best behaviour since this is OUR forum for OUR boats. I am extremely outspoken, sometimes bordering on rude on some forums and in real life. But at least in the real world, you can see my body language to tell if I am speaking in jest or if I am serious.

At any rate, that's that.. it's all good!

And I wish Four Winns would make a 288 wide beam with a convertible dinette and a hard top option! :)

That sums it up nicely. Given the morass of some other forums (searay comes to mind) it's nice to have a friendlier place.

As long as FW doesn't come out with a center console we'll probably stay lucky. God help us if THAT rabble showed up.
