I needed to cut an access panel on the back wall within trash bin area of my 298 to replace the Port fuel sender. Worked out well.
I would google it for your boat as you may have access under the fridge for the Port. You may still need to add an access panel above both tanks. Make sure you have the correct location and protect the top of the fuel tank before making any cuts.

Accessing the Fuel Senders Port Fuel Tank Sender: Access is typically achieved by removing the cockpit refrigerator / ice maker built into the wet bar area. Once the unit is slid out of its cavity, there is usually an access hole or panel in the fiberglass partition wall that looks directly into the fuel tank area.
Starboard Fuel Tank Sender: This unit is positioned behind the starboard cockpit seating base. Accessing it often requires looking from inside the engine compartment forward and outboard, though clearances are incredibly tight.
Pro-Tips for the Job: Adding a Deck Hatch: Due to the notoriously tight clearances over the top of the tanks, many owners opt to cut a clean hole in the flat fiberglass seat base/liner and install a 6-inch or 8-inch screw-in marine deck hatch (pie eye). This gives you a permanent, straight-down access window to change the sender and service the anti-siphon valve in the future.
