:D Had the family at Cedar Point and around the Lake Erie island over the past few days and ran the boat home today with my dad. Wife and kids took a car home with Grandma when we saw the lake forecast. Anyway, it was a 70 mile run and we were in 4-5' of Lake Erie's snotty chop with the occasional 6 or 7' thrown in for good measure. For the most part, we were taking them in the starboard stern. I have limited experience with other boats of this size so I didn't know what to expect but I thought the V358 handled it nicely. Thank goodness for those bow chines ... as we plowed into the back of a few 6 footers the water being sprayed out and down was amazing.

Anyway, great boat, great trip. Had four of us on it for 5 days very comfortably. Hope everyone else is enjoying there's as much as we are. B

Glad you had a great trip. Can you clue me in on the boating around there? We are looking to trailer from West Michigan to play in the island area of Northern Ohio. Looking to play around CP. Head over to Put-in-Bay. Maybe run up the Detroit River to say we have been downtown Detroit in the boat. What else do we need to do?

The whole area is really nice. Cedar Point in Sandusky is awesome and they have a very nice Marina right there at the park. Put-in-Bay is party central ... families can have fun there and singles/couples can have a lot of fun there. Kelley's Island is also nice ... good for an afternoon. There's Pelee Island, Rattlesnake Island and other areas that I don't know that well.

It is quite a busy area, not real hard to navigate but there are some reefs/shoals, a ton of ferries and you generally want to have an idea when you're going. The islands and peninsulas can get disorienting when you're out there.

Anyway, I'd be happy to give you some first hand insights into where to stay and eat etc. Let me know.

Thanks! let me talk to the admiral to see if that is where we are going to end up.

How far by boat from Port Clinton to mouth of the Detroit River?

Not sure on the distance for sure but I would say 35-40 miles. For your boat, that's an hour and a half or so in decent seas?

Or quicker if I want to spend the $$$. It would have to be pretty good weather to make it, but it would be a fun run.
