Looking at the option page at their website, they do not show a windlass option for either of these boats. Anyone know if there is a reason for that? Can one be fitted? It is an important consideration for me. Thanks.

Sorry its not available from Four Winns for the 248/258, it is wired for it though. If you hunt around, or someone else may chime in, There was an owner of a 268 that installed it on his. He had all the instructions listed for someone to follow. It was Vista Al. Now he is just Al. At least the boat is pre-wired though.

I have a 2002 Vista and I recently installed a windlass. Seems FW did not pre-wire mine like they appear to have done for Al's 99 268. Advise is to check the wiring before you start to tackle the job. I spent more time wiring the windlass that I did installing it.
