here is how i did a gen cord setup. it also works for my tv antenna and tv antenna booster, nevermind there is no friggin way to upload pics.

Awesome setup! I am looking to do the same thing this season. I have a really novice question about adding the outlet. When you say it is installed parallel, what exactly does that mean? Do I just find the wires coming from the factory outlet and "tap into them?"
Also, I was just searching online and I see a lot of references to the fact that the inlet has to be no more than 10 feet from the breaker. Moving the inlet to the back would definitely be more than 10 so I would think an additional breaker would have to go somewhere. Any ideas?

In a parallel circuit, each device is directly connected to the power source. This is done so that each device receives the same voltage

As far as wiring it up, there are many ways to go about it. You could tap into the existing inlet but you need to understand that only one side can be connected at once and while the other side is running the non connected inlet is hot.

To eliminate that scenario you could wire your existing inlet plus this new one into a transfer switch much like the larger cruisers have to toggle between shore power and generator. This is the route I will like to go when I tackle this project.
