Howdy,

I have a 2003 Vista 248. I'm pretty sure, although not 100%, that my A/C unit (CruiseAir) is a 5000 BTU unit. Is this a correct assumption? I am considering the purchase of a Honda EU2000 connected to the shore power plug from the swim platform to run it when away from dock.

I have read where some people in RV's had to have a hard start kit (capacitor). Have any of you needed to install this kit or did the EU2000 handle the start up okay?

Craig C.

Walter,

Do you run the EU2000 in Eco-Mode or do you run it full bore when using the A/C?

I can run my 2000i either way, in EcoMode it will spool up for the initial start surge and then it will come back down in RPM after the AC is kicked over.

Hard Start capacitor is to start and run a 13,000 btu A/C unit. The 5000 btu unit in our boats is not a problem for a Honda EU2000, and in most cases, not a problem for the EU1000.
