Has anyone tried connecting the Sony XA-120iP iPod Adapter Interface 2003 Vista OEM Sony Xplod CDXCF50M head unit??

Is it compatible and does it work well? Can you control the iPod via the wired remotes?

Your actual model number on your head unit is CDX-CA705M. The CDX-CF50M is something FW made up.

Unfortunately, the iPod adapter you listed is NOT compatible with your head unit. Your best bet (financially) is to opt for a $50 FM modulator (one that that splices into the antenna line and cuts the reception ... NOT the wireless kind.) Take a look at this one:

If you don't want that, you can always upgrade your head unit, but you'll need to make sure to get one that is compatible with the transom/cockpit remote.

I opted for the FM modulator. Works like a charm.

Thanks for the reply and bummmmmmer.... FM modulator "works" but doesn't allow control of the IPOD via the wired remotes and doesn't charge the IPOD either. Hmmm need to consider a new Sony head unit or could be time to buy that new 408!
