Hi folks, I have just purchased an 1998 278 vista, and am new to the site, boat has 390 hrs, and overal in good shape, one thing that has me is the port light windows hold water, the actual bezel trim leans toward the glass so it just holds the water until it eventually leaks in, this is 1 crappy design, anybody got a fix, i am sure four winns may have a better design?

Mine is the same, its just a bad design that they later corrected.

The only solution I found was to unscrew the plastic window clips, remove the small white plastic spacing washer, to enable the clips to tighten up more against the window. It probably really needs new rubber seals like mine, but I can't see me ever getting around to do it.

I look forward to seeing the PDF file you have for this mod. I'm not sure how to post the file, unless it's like posting a picture in photobucket. Maybe someone could advise how it's done.

just got a voice mail from a very pleasent woman at bomar, there is also a replacement trim ring availablable dependant on the angle the windows were install, I guess the lower side windows actually have a lean from the lower to upper, so water drains, the older 278 with the window on above the strake are an issue, anyways I am going to order one and see if it will fit the bill, I will keep all posted
