As mentioned in the Vista thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1410&p=39750#p39750

The 2007 and earlier 348/358 have a forward bimini canvas:

The 2008 and later have slightly different canvas, without the forward bimini:

Also note the difference in the side panels u-shaped openings size and orientation.

I checked, the measurement from the center of the arch down to the top of the windshield frame is 49". From the looks of these two pictures there doesn't appear to be any difference in the shape of the arches.

The same applies to the 318 and 338 I believe.

The 2006/2007's don't seem to have the forward bimini. We just have the 5 peice windshield connector.

Not the 338 :) Even the few 07s that were produced (mine was a late 07 build actually) all got the updated canvas w/ hinging arch. I'm willing to bet the arches are *slightly* different on the 318/358s with folding arches. I have some up close photos of the 318s that I'll compare.

Coug - got my $150 rail magma mount for the kettle. My butt is still a lil sore but it did the job! I don't even want to know how much the table is!!

So it just snaps directly to the top of the arch? Or is there a valance piece of some kind? From what I've read about the cost of replacing the track & zipper type valance it would be quite a cost savings to not have one.

We have the folding arch and the 5 front pieces all zipper to the arch with a velcro/canvas overlap to cover the zippered seam.

Did anyone receive a screen for the front center piece of eisenglass? We had one on our 258 but not with the 338?? It was a nice feature to get some air.

I bet the change as mentioned might have something to do with the collapsible arch. Our 358 does not have this feature and so, we wound up with the FWD bimini. Actually, I was lamenting at one time not having the arch but if it comes at the expense of not having the FWD bimini, I am glad I don't have the arch that collapses.
