I currently own a 278 and am considering moving up to a 358. What do you 358 owners think of her? Would appreciate any positive or constructive feedback.

You're welcome. I wish I could add more, but there is a wealth of information in that thread, which should get you started.

If you are considering the 358, also check out a 338 - if you can find one. They saw quite a few improvements over the 318 and 358. All are superb boats though!

Looked at 318, 338 and 358....liked them all but leaning towards 358 based on the larger island berth and separate shower.

We love our 338. We stepped up from a 258 and really enjoy the space. Its worth a look.

I have a 348 (which the marketing department at FW annoyingly renamed "358" for no appreciably reason other than number envy) and like it. Had the 338 or even the 318 been available when we purchased they'd have gotten serious consideration. The 338 is quite similar to the 358, with about 1 foot less length in the cabin galley area and then in a few other places. Since you're upgrading I doubt you'd notice the differences. Heck, if I had to buy a replacement boat I doubt I'd really detect anything 'lost' by stepping back to the 338. I seem to recall the 318's forward berth as being a bit smaller though. The one on the 358 is just over queen size in width, with a full double in the mid-cabin. They're all three great boats.

Thanks for the info Bill. Definitely like the extra room in the 358.

The 338 is a nice boat, but if you can afford it go for the 358. It's 2' longer and 6" wider so it really is a bigger boat. The 378 is a totally different boat than the 318/338/348/358 family and I think a little older design.

What ever you do stay away from the 348, that thing is tiny.

We love our 358 and use it every weekend. We spent the July 4th week on the boat and it really was great. We boat on a Searay infested lake and the style of our boat stands out against the Sundancers. I get all kinds of complements. I've purchased three new boats since 2001 (yes I'm stupid) and this boat had less issues by far over the Searays.

Good luck

I have been very happy with my 2008 358, i have the 300 Volvo penta with the XPA drives. I have travelled to the Bahamas and lots of offshore passages. The sea keeping is very impressive. Fuel consumption is reasonable 25 GPH @ 25Kts If you are interested i am considering selling mine, pls mail me off group sj@odms.co.uk
