Just a quick question-
I have had my 98 238 for a few months now. I am a novice boater (1st boat). I know you can convert the seats in the v-berth into a flat bed but how? What holds the middle cushions up? Anyone have a ny pics?

2nd question-
Rear sundeck- there are 2 large pads that appear to fit perfectly in between the rear seat and the support bar below the front seat. except they slip off and down once you add any weight to them. Did they shrink (appear to be in like new condition)? Is there a support you put underneath? Do they "snap" or "lock" in somehow?

Any thoughts about these topics or others related to a 98 238 would be appreciated.

thanks again

Not sure on the 238, but on our 268, there is an insert under the rear seat that fits between the benches, then the cushions go on that. Same with the V-berth, there should be a table like board that fits between the benches, and the cushions rest on that to make the V-berth bed. We store our insert under the mid-berth cushions, you might check there if you have not already for the piece.

HellO!
I have a 1999 VIsta 238. The two pillows are supported by the rail mounted on the back of the front seat, and a lip on the back seat. The lip on the back seat is not a very good support. I think the pillow itself as it gets older pushes away from that lip and thus you fall on your arsh. So I would reccomend some sort of middle support. I don't know if four winns has a fix or a middle support already made up you might just have to make one. Let me know I have the same problem.

The front V berth on the 238 is made up by placing the timber strut that you should have, across the 2 U shaped plastic holders fitted to the front of the seats, the table is placed on the strut and plastic rest at the front (where the 2 seats meet you can see the front one in this picture)
All the front cushions are then laid flat on the table.

Hope this helps.

Shark
Thanks
I was refering to the cushions behind the drivers seat. Not down below. Like the TV though do you have reception or just watch movies from a DVD?

It looks like , beyond the blue (not shark) has TV reception, with the antenna on the top right, and the UK picture on his screen.
beyond, is that a powered antenna you have ? I have not seen one like that here in the states.
You definitely have a nice cozy looking cabin in your boat.

Sorry for the mix up I intended to answer Hancoveguy

Cap'n Morgan
It is a powered antenna but it does'nt really make much difference if its turned up or down. We have a system called Freeview about 20 digital channels with lots of digital radio channels also. The powered antenna unit can be seen just under the tv. (you need to remember that although its called Freeview we pay about $250 annually for a compulsary tv licence thanks to the BBC)

Thanks for all the info everyone...
So just so I have it straight, you use a wooden support, whick I do have, to support the larger or smaller of the two tables? and then the cushions...

I will try that thank you all.

Follow up- Shore power? When I plug in I see a charging light on the actual battery charger underneath in the engine compartment but nothing on the switch board in the cabin... any thoughts?
No power to Microwave or any outlets.

Your thoughts appreciated

You would use the large table in the V berth. It is stored in the head. As to your power issue, did you switch the breakers on? On mine, I have to have a battery on for the internal power, like microwave and socket, etc. When the shore power is connected, you should see a green light or led on the power panel to show power on.
