I got a question from someone on EBay and I can't find the information (2006 Vista 278):

Quote:
Can you tell me what the LOA is without the swimming platform? I'm trying to figure if it will fit on my lift and where the bulk of the weight will be.

LOA is listed everywhere as 28'4" and the boat is 45 mins away so I can't just hop over and measure it. Where can I find this information?

I think wetted surface is about 22 to 23 feet, give or take a few. Not positive though.

I believe the 278 was a replacement for the 268. So that should make the boat 26 feet, give or take 6 inches.

I believe the E-bay dude just needs to know how much of the hull will rest on his lift, overall length less swim platform is not relevant. As much of the hull (bow) will never touch the lift or racks. Here is some dimensions that jsimon gave me for his 03' 268 Vista.

Quote:
Ok, from the transom (right below the drain plug) to the bow eye, down the center of the keel, is 21' 1". If you want to encompass the "pods" that the trim tabs are mounted on, add 14".

Thus my comment above. Which was pretty close just from memory. Your 278 will be the same.
