A smashing day - overall.

North East Shore (Elkton) Departure
A quick ride up the C&D to Chesapeake City for lunch.
Then a quick shot over to the Bohemia River to throw anchor for a bit.

A flawless day, really.

A few Questions / Observations on this maiden voyage...

Were going to name her Ab Fab after the BBC TV show "Absolutely Fabulous" - which offers quite the chuckle to my wife who has crafted a similar life style :)

The CO2 sensors were beeping every 10 seconds (or so) non stop and my radio would not work unless the engine was on. When I cut engine's, the radio would cut on/off. A fellow 268 owner at anchor suggested a bank of new batteries as his CO2 sensors did the same thing with old / poor charging cells. Think I should do this - it's a new boat - please advise.

Some weather striping coming loose under the center folding wind shield - thinking I can hot glue gun that down.

Did not fill test any water/waist lines - was just a day trip.

GLXi had good power. Up on plain quick and docking maneuvers went well with what was a tough (and very public) dock slip today. This boat has some good reverse grunt - even in blowing winds.

Very happy with it. First day out, three Four Winns Vista owners were found - all said hello and took the time to chat.

A good day, in deed.

The beeping of the CO2 sensors is a low battery warning and the radion not working when the motor off is another indication of a low battery. Did you also try switching the battery selector switch to see if it made any difference?

I did try the switch - in every position.

Can someone offer me the info on what cells to buy? Gonna do this one myself.

My 268 uses Group 29 batteries. You will get varied opinions on this, but I run two deep cycle lead acid batteries. Many will recommend one deep cycle and one starting battery. It's up to you. Group 27's will fit, but might be a little shorter for your battery boxes.
