Just letting people know of a mod i've made, Since bring the boat from Florida to Europe, i had to change the TV as it is NTSC so would not work very well on our PAL systems.
Never did like the coffee maker and the space it took up in the right hand upper cupboard, i have removed the coffee maker
and the installed TV in the middle cupboard, I then installed a really good 27 inch flatscreen on the rear bulkhead next to the steps where they install the tv's on the 09 boats, i already had a KVH M3DX sat so moved the controller box to where the coffee maker was, then installed the new Sat receiver for Sky UK, then installed a Blue Ray player in there as well. I have asked the Florida agents if they can order a new door for the cupboard where the coffee maker was ( if you look at the 2008 cataloue it shows it with a door on) and then also a replacement door for the center cupboard where the TV was. I would like to have the door in the cupboard (the new one) where i have the Sat gear, installed with a cutout for perspex, like in the cupboards behind, then the remote will work without the door open.

Anyway it looks very good and is very functional and i would like to see it as a factory fit.

Cheers all

Sean - great mods! I have taken the liberty of re-posting this in the V358 thread as it's great to have everything centralized in one place. Obviously, we will want to see pictures. Prior to '08, there was a cabinet door on the coffee maker's cupboard. A lot of the '08 catalog shots were from '07 before some changes were made (wood blinds among them).

Separately, how did the boat handle the journey?

Definitely a good spot to set up more electronics. I ditched my coffee maker too. In the 338 there's a 110 outlet in that cabinet as well as a splitter for the dvd and vhf. Luckily the coffee maker isn't exposed in the 338, no need to run down a door.

Four Winns are going to make me two new doors (via my Florida dealer Intermarine) quite reasonible $90 each with latches and hindges. They asked for the precise measurements that i have given them.
There are two power outlets in the back of the cabinet on the 358 too and the coaxial cabling and distriution is ony in the next cab so it's easy to move across. It was also real easy to route the cables to the new TV, you just remove the coving edging that runs around the edge of the head/shower unit. And you can just use a commercial Vesa flat screen mount to locate the TV on the rear bulkhead.

As to the shipping from US, everything more or less went well, i purchased a 45 ft 22,500 lbs three axle trailer. she was road hauled to the port Jacksonville behind a F350. Than onto a RORO to the UK, they managed to damage the trailer off loading in UK, as the trailer is not road legel in UK/Europe we had to load the boat and trailer onto a flat bed and than haul the next 1,500 miles to Potugal.

If someone could let me know how to upload pics i will post some.

Cheers

Sean

Sean - there is a detailed rundown of how to post pictures here. But the short version is:

-Open a Photobucket account.
-Upload pictures you want to post to Photobucket
-Use their tools to resize them if necessary (I try not to exceed 640x480 for most posts)
-Copy the 'IMG Code' for the photos you want to share (it will be obvious) and paste into your post.
-Do this all very soon... we want to see!
