I am sure the big yachts in FLA have them running all the time for AC and I would imagine they go 30 to 40 kts. Maybe the big boys are set up differently?

Yes, a bigger hull has a lot more wetted surface while underway. That leaves a lot more room for putting the genset intakes in places that will get consistent water flow. On smaller boats it's more of a challenge, especially when maneuvering or in choppy water. The intake loses flow and the genset impeller runs dry for a bit. Really puts a lot of strain on it, possibly leading to chunks breaking off and getting stuck in the heat exchanger.

I only ran mine underway on very hot days when we needed AC below for small kids. It seemed to work fine but I was mindful to avoid water conditions that would starve the water intake. But I was already doing that to keep the ride comfortable for the little ones.
