SPAM MUCH?????

I personally wouldn't buy a product from someone who registers on a web site just to plug their product, rather than signing up as a vendor.

If you have a vent filter it will be mounted in the engine area. There will be a hose from your holding tank to the filter and another hose to the small chrome vent. In some cases the vent filter mounts to the holding tank.

The filter looks like this:

If you want to really clean the vent tubing, the connections to the vent filter are garden hose style...

Thanks for the diagram, this helps alot, I did see this filter but I figured it was a fresh water filter. Got it now. Thanks!

Well, it's true, I am trying to promote a product. In my defense I don't think my post was anymore off topic than the ad for Sealand. Also I have tried many times to support the site by offering to pay for an ad with no response from the webmaster. Sorry if any of you feel my post to be out of line.

do you even own a Four Winns? Photos please.

Rather than trying to sell product here on this site, we all try to help each other out on fixing/modifying with alternatives that exceed OEM that are friendly on the wallet. So in this case, making a filter out of PVC and aquarium charcoal for a few bucks fits the ticket.

You can even "refill" the existing one, all you have to do is hack saw it in the middle, get some PVC glue and a Male and Female threaded PVC coupling, some activated charcoal and the pre filter (open cell polypropolene I think, also available at the Aquarium store) all told it wouldn't cost more than 20-30 dollars in parts and the next time you refill it would be even cheaper!

OK, I know I am respondnig to this post late but I drained the tank and gave it a good scrubbing and flushed the lines as well. I looked at purchasing a new filter but with the above suggestions (not the orange filter one) I found a guy selling the recharge kit on ebay for $19.99. It seems pretty simple as Bret248vista recomended. It just modifies the tube and you fill with charcoal and prefilter. I will post pics when I make the modification.

OK, I made the retro fit using the kit I bought on ebay today. I must say it was much cheaper then buying a new sani filter. I spent $19.99 on the kit which came with the PVC adapters, the charcoal, the foam filters and the instructions. The instructions are the most well written (lamens terms) I have had for a do it yourself project. In addition to the $19.99 I spent on the kit, I bought PVC primer and PVC cement in a kit at Home Depot for $6.98, which was more then enough for about 50 filter changes. The seller on ebay was great at communication and while he says you could buy the pieces and the charcoal yourself, he gets a discount by buying in bulk and that his charcoal is scientific grade. He says you can buy the filter and charcoal at a pet store. I was pretty comfortable buying the kit from him for $19.99 once I read the instructions. Now I will only need to buy the charcoal each time for about $5-$10 and the filters as needed instead of the $50+ for a new filter. I will try and attach pics, but I hate doing pics because you have to put them on an outside source. If you want Pics PM me and I can email them to you. The entire mod took me 45 minutes which includes the 30 minute dry time for the cement so really 15 minutes
