Ok i want to change the bulbs on the overhead lighting on my 2000 268. How do you remove the fixtures? Ive tugged gently, and tried twisting but cant seem to get them off. I dont want to break anything.

Thanks

Jeff

I believe you just have to push in gently while twisting to the left.

You talking about the arch? If they are anything like my 328 you need a wide flat instrument so you don't scratch the surface, I think I used a razaor blade. slide that under the bevel and gently push while pulling down at the same time. There are clips that hold it in, that's why it just turns endlessly.

Thread title.......Disassemble Cabin lights

Good info to know though for those that have an arch and want to replace the bulbs.

Firecadet is correct. I had one of mine off last weekend just to see how to get into it. Those lights are hot if you've had them on.

I just got done replacing entire cabin lights with LED's, I just gently pulled each light cover from the fixture, once you get one, you can see just how they snap together. Quite simple.

Powellcrazy how do they look? I told my wife about what you were doing and told her I am considering that and she shot me down. She thought she wouldn't like the color of the light. She's pretty particular about that sort of thing.

Ya, so is my wife! But I did it to save on battery power, my wife and daughter hate them. I guess, don't do it, or you will never hear the end of it from the wife!

BTW, you can buy different colors of white (warm, cool, ect...).
