 Post subject: four winns 268 low rpms

this weekend we were out my 2003 four winns 268 would not go over 3000 rpm and still had alot of throttle left but would not go any higher. I checked a spark plug and they looked good. did not check fuel filter since i did not have right tools to get it off. could not hand crank. Next day took it out by myself and it ran like a champ. But was not overloaded at all.

I am thinking water in gas?
spark plugs/ wires?
new fuel filter

any help would be great.

In my case it was water in the gas. I had to replace the fuel pump as a result. Costly!!

wast gas from the marina or was it getting in somewhere? thanks for the help
