My AC seems to pump out water great when she's on, but I still get the curse of the yellow stain on the boat. Any suggestions on the best way to get rid of the stains, and has any one put in an extension with a piece of garden hose to eliminate the stains on the boat?

Try cleaning your condensate pan for your AC.Sometimes you get some slim build up from water sitting in there not draining properly which could make it a funny color

And it will eventually cause discoloring of the gelcoat. Like make a dark blue hull lighter where the water has been flowing (same thing with run-off from the decking). A bit of time with a Porter-Cable polisher and some compound (I've had GREAT luck with Leverage brand) and it's looking better.

Why wouldn't he use a fiberglass stain remover like FSR? I just purchased some for my thru-hull fitting stains but I have not used it yet. Is there a downside to using these type products?

Some years I can see a very faint stain. I don't do anything special, just hit with Slimey Grimey during the fall bottom wash and buff it out during the spring waxing.

I've heard about some people using a short piece of clear tubing stuck in the hole. Nearly invisible, cheap and stops the drips. Mine tend to be a broader stain because my dock is on that side and depending on water height, the discharge splashes off the dock.

MaryKate mfg "On & Off Hull Cleaner"

is an outstanding bidegradable hull cleaning product for all stubborn scum, rust, barnacle, etc. Comes in liquid or gel. I like the gel. just put on , wait, rinse, totally clean. It works great on the A/C water stain. Just wear rubber gloves. And I like to wax the spot I clean right after as it will remove any wax coating.

Our river creates a very bad brown stain on the hull and I was going nuts until old-timers turned me on to this product.

One thing to consider is why the A/C coolant overboard discharge is even in contact with the hull. Some splash is unavoidable, but if the flow rate is sufficient and the through-hull is in good shape it should produce a well-formed stream that does not dribble down the hull. Here, for example, is a through-hull that's in poor condition; note the flow down the hull. Its replacement produces a clean stream that does not directly wet the hull at all.
