Well, we've had our 2005 288 Vista for about a year now and the damn thing is falling down around me like the walls of Jericho. Generator shot craps...repairman coming next week. Clarion dash remote quit working. Myron Davis DVD konked out, fresh water pump died, air conditioner isn't pumping...yes I primed it and checked impeller, two more Faria gauges quit, Bennett trim tabs quit & rebuilt, carbon monoxide detectors tester quit...what next. Spent a grand tuning up the engines, new belts, rotars, coils etc. but the starboard engine keeps vapor locking grrr. Of course the boat has all of 140 hours on it so I can see why it's worn out. I'll get ahead of the beast even if it means selling our 1st born to pay for it. My question? Does the 288 have a secret location for a dockside cable hookup. Looked around the transom shower but natta. Number Two: Any easy way to get the DVD out of the cubby besides a hammer & chisel?

This is now the 3rd 288 Vista from , or in Pensacola that has had a number of problems. What's up with that area and 288's Image

Not sure if FW wired in a cable hook up on the 288. It would not surprise me if there is none.

I have a 2006 Vista 288 and there is not external dockside cable hook up. I'm not sure why your 288 is falling apart. I keep my boat in Pensacola and just like everyone else have had bugs that had to be worked out of a new boat. I have had to replace my Clarion remotes, raw water intakes on engines replaced, and generator choke issues. When my boat was being broken in, I also had vapor lock issues. The mechanics narrowed down the problem to packing material left in the air filter on top of the engine. The dealer was supposed to remove the packing material and they never did, which caused all of the headaches.

We are so with you on the 288 problems! Our boat had about 92 hours on it when we got it. It was neglected for a while since it wAs a repo. We've spent about $20k on it. Good thing we got a great deal in it! No cable hookup. We're in Port St. Joe FL. Not too far from Pensacola. We do love our 288 but it's nerve- racking!
