I was wondering if anyone has used the Xtreme battery from Batterys Plus or the West Marine's Sea Volt Dual purpose battery? Tell me what you think.

I buy all my batteries at Sams Club or Costco. Recently I bought 2 group size 31 Marine AGM batteries from Sams Club for a song and a dance WITH a 3 year, no questions asked warranty.

West Marine wanted about $120 more (each) for the same battery.

West Marine and Batteries Plus are the two most expensive battery stores in the USA.

See if a Deka dealer is near you, if not I'd do what ^ said and go the Sams/Costco/BJ/wholesale club route

Sam's Club carries an excellent GC2 6 volt golf cart batteries that is made by Johnson Controls. I have 4 of them run in serries-parallel for a 440 aH battery bank. At $63 each it hard to go wrong with a great true deep cycle battery. You could run 2 in series and have a 220 aH battery bank that would last all day with no worries

Three years ago I did a complete seperation of house and engine. I went with Lifeline batteries. A little pricey but did some reading around the net and found people who had theirs for 7 and 8 years and still had their batteries. I went with a 12v agm for engine and 2 6v agm for house. Replaced the old charger with a Xantrex true charge 40, blue sea add a battery and added an extra relay in to disconnect the acr while using the the battery charger since xantrex can charge up to 3 batteries at the same time and not alternating the charger on and off to 3 batteries. As for the LifeLine I love them. They come with a 5 year warrenty. I use to put inexpensive batteries in and bought 2 new ones every year. I did the math and after 5 years I will then start saving money.
