Leaf color is nice and all, but what follows sometimes, I could do without, snow, ice, Nor'easters, etc. Had a tornado in Queens NY (Breezy Point) yesterday, that almost NEVER happens around here. I saw the vid of it and it looked just like the ones you see in the Midwest, things flying around in the air, garbage dumpsters, etc. We are getting some odd weather we never had before, there was a tornado in Brooklyn NY a few years ago as well.

We usually keep the boat in until the end of October, and the boating weather now can be very nice, every now and then we get a tropical storm or weak cat 1 hurricane but for the most part it's nice here in Sept and Oct....

So what kind of snakes and other reptiles do you have to share that beautiful Florida lake with?

I was planning the winterization for this weekend, I purchased all the necessary materials and was "Gung Ho" to get the boat ready for the winter, until I realized the Admiral was misery...she is not ready to park the boat yet so it looks like another outing or two before the 190 gets ready for winter..."A Happy Wife is A Happy Life". Hopefully I still have time to do some "Black Tracking" in the car too!.

There's an association that takes care of the lake. Every gator that appears gets pulled out. They take care of the shoreline and also remove any unwanted vegetation. Very clean.

I like the idea of seeing color change but hate the thought of the cold. Brought the boat to South Seas this weekend great weather low 90's. Going to Back to Minnesota this weekend so I will get my taste of cool evenings which will be enough to last for a while.

Thanks! In my other thread im actually getting ready for fall/winter "off season". TV, bigger batteries soon, all the cabin comforts for overnighters that are not possible during summer. It might not be a big cabin, but sleeping out on the water beats any night at home.
