I specifically removed that kind from my 348. The riser tube would get clogged in the waste tank and was usually just plain wrong on the fresh water tank. The kind from Dometic with the floats seems to not have the same problems in either situation. Like this one:

I just left the old 2" Xintex POS in place and put the Sealand one over by the sink. It's easier to see and was a lot easier to install in that location.
I found it useful to wire the gauge to the overhead light switch in the head. That way it's only lit when you've got the light on. Which you'd do when you want to see the gauge. This avoids having it powered and the lights on when you don't need it.
