As a general rule the older boats had more room inside and the engine compartments were less cluttered with molded in 'glass. There were wood bulkheads you could take apart.
But there is wood coring everywhere and you have to really watch out for rot.
If I had one I'd rip up any carpet on the deck if there was carpet, have the deck re-gelcoated in non skid gelcoat and fill any holes for seat mounting etc with sealant. That's what I did to mine during the interior/structural rebuild in 2006/2007. That carpet is the worst thing they could use on the deck of an open boat. It holds moisture and causes rot.

Nice!
This was my dream boat when I was 14-15 years old. What started me wanting a cabin cruiser.
It looks to be in pretty good condition. Have fun with it.

Looks great!

For being in storage for 6 years and it's vintage, before you use the boat you're going to want to do a full tune up. Replace all rubber parts (water hoses, fuel hoses, impeller, bellows), probably rebuild the carb if it's not fuel injected, and replace the fuel pump. You want to trust that boat with your life, and the only way to to do so on a boat that old is to virtually replace anything that can break and put it down in a log book at what hours and date you replaced it.

I have of a list all the rubbers to replace going to soak the cylinders with oil before i even hand crank the engine over too cold for that area yet. started on checking wiring last weekend might have a battery charger problem didnt seem to be charging on shore power i havent chased it down yet, power light on so i know its got juice to it

Boat really looks great. Same color scheme as my old H-200. If it hasn't been run in 6 years, I'd want whatever gas is left in the tank pumped out. You may need to have the carb rebuilt and for sure install a new raw water pump (impeller) in the upper gear housing. As noted all the cooling hoses should probably be replaced (don't forget the little hose from the p/s cooler to the rramsom mount on the rear of the engine). There is also another short hose that goes from the upper gear hosing to the transom mount. Lastly I'd lift up the cover for the gas tank and look carefully at all the gas lines, they all may need replacing. Good luck!

Gas lines technically are rated for 1-2 years, so yeah.. replace all!

YEP! That is where we spend 90% of our weekends throughout the spring, summer, and fall. If you are ever up that way, PM me. I have boated at Alum since I was a young boy. It is nice, but can get busy on the holiday weekends. Not nearly as busy as it was when I was a kid though....

Wow! That is super low hours. My boat is a 2006 and has well over 400 hours on her now. I know she will be over 500 after this season.....weather permitting
