well it was too cold to remove decals only got to 27 degrees so i removed all the teak and refinished it not best pics it was dark by the time i finished

I may be a bit late to this post but in case you haven't gotten around to it yet I had great success with 3M's Stripe off wheel and a cordless drill. I had no burn marks and not problems. I removed the old name and the stripe that ran the whole length of the boat with it.

removed vinyl letters from the boat today . i can see every letter still in the gel coat (original shine)
they have a slight raise where gel has worn off around them. has any one used 2000 grit emery and wet sanded gel coat before? or will a mico finishing compound and a foam pad make it less noticeable
