I have used this on 3 boats, two campers and several tents. It already has the correct mix of bleach, so no worry
about damaging the Sunbrella. For $2.00 a bottle at Dollar General, it is hard to beat, and no mixing of bleach, soap, water etc.

You will have to trust me on this, it is an awesome product for your boat canvas mold issues.

I picked some of this up and am using it on my canvas today...so far it seems like great stuff!

Jeff - the underside of your bimini top, is it the same fabric thats on the top? On mine its more of a rubbery type material...I don't recall my 268 having it on there.

Let me know how that stuff works. I'm going to clean mine tomorrow if the sun comes out here.
My top is the same inside and out.

It did great. I'll have to take a picture of mine once it's dry.

Apparently my bimini top isn't Sunbrella...but Coastguard fabric. That explains it.

My tag says Dickson which I thought was who made the top, but I guess Dickson is the company that makes Sunbrella. Learn something new every day. :)

I gave my top a good scrub with Woolite inside and out today. Then a spray of Mean Green with another scrub and rinsed three times. It looks like new again. Going to 303 it inside and out next. We'll see how it holds up next season.
Thanks for the tip Cap'n.

Mean Green huh? I will have to try that as I noticed mildew on the underside of my bimini this weekend. I keep plenty of damp-rid in the cabin of the boat at all times, but not in the cockpit.

For 2 seasons now I have used coal briquettes as moisture control in my boat.

I was put onto this idea by the owner of a 40' Outterlimits. He said it was commonly used by the go fast community in Fla. Not sure If this was true or not, but it had logic to me so I setup two mop buckets with a 5lb bag of briquettes each.

I keep one in the engine compartment and one at the helm when I am not at the boat. I believe it works very well, and the cost is next to nothing.

If you do try this be warned that you should cover or remove the buckets when motoring or trailering. Coal is very dusty when agitated.

Hmmm this thread interests me as I suddenly had mildew on the underside of my canvas this year, for the first time ever!

Im leary to put bleach anything on something as expensive as my canvas. I dont care if Sunbrella endorses it or not, Im not comfortable with that. Are they going to buy my new canvas when it gets bleached stained or dry-rots prematurely?? Doubt it.

I do follow the recommendations of my canvas builder. Dilute a cup of Woolite in a 2.5 gallon bucket of warm water. Lay canvas out, scrub with a soft brush (I use my boat brush at the end of my boat-hook). Rinse, repeat. Let air-dry fully. Then treat with 303 BOTH sides.

My canvas is 17, going on 18 years old and looks new. Well, maybe not brand new but very very close to it. It doesnt even leak! Ill save my bleach for my whites in my wash machine and the bathroom. Keep it away from my $4000+ canvas please.

I have to followup on this thread. I used a 16oz jar of the Kanberra Gel in the boat this year and it did an amazing job keeping the inside of the boat dry. While I had previously got some mildew growth on the inside of the cover this year I had nothing. Going to ask for a refill for xmas this year.
