So, we have an idea here for next summer...
Me, my wife, and two toddlers might try to live aboard our 268 next summer at the slip.
We'll save tons of money on housing (we are currently renters) and if it doesn't work, we'll just wait for a nice house to rent. We figure we can get out a lot to the beach and local state parks.
Are we crazy? What's the longest you've lasted living in your 268?
You and your wife, ok. Two toddlers? your nuts!
But I would try it if I could talk my wife into it.
I lived on my 248 for almost three months the first year I had it. I traveled for work during the week so I wasn't there every night but I was usually on the boat Thursday night thru Monday morning every week. Shut everything down at the house so my utility bill was $0 during that time. Definitley make sure you have air on the boat and a lounge at the marina. I had some hot days/nights onboard that made sleeping miserable. There is not much storage on the 248s and 268s so finding space for all the kiddies clothes n stuff will be fun.
Good luck.
