If you can direct me to where that $25 a case beer is in available in Canada, I can save more than $100 per summer, and I won't include my labor to consume it![/quote]

You're correct Ernie, we Canadians will have a tough job finding a case of beer for 25 bucks in Canada, but without knowing I assumed Chuck (the original poster was American) so a case of beer for 25 bucks is doable. A little off topic, but a case of 24 Labatt Blue in Ontario is around 40 bucks, but when we run our boat across Lake St. Clair into Michigan I can buy single 24 oz cans of beer on sale at Kroger for a buck US. I drink beer bought in the US for most of our boating summer.

Guess us Canadians think the same "Decision" .
We do exactly the same thing cross the Lake and legally purchase American beer for $15 a case rather than the $40 we pay here.
Guess this summer the difference in the dollar will raise that $15 to a whopping $18 still a good deal even with my poor math skills.

Don't even let me get started about the price of fuel difference from US to Canada.

Summer Boating is on it's way only 15 weeks left to go. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I too agree that it sounds like you are not connected to shore power. Not only check your battery switches to make sure they are in the "on" position but also check in the transom storage locker because there are a couple of switches in there by the shore power cord hook up that need to be in the "on" position as well.

ETA - while re-reading the thread to see if I missed something regarding ric's asinine recommendation, I saw where Decision already addressed the switch in the transom locker.

So when you turn on the gen, it immediately takes on the full electrical load of what items were on at the time of start up (i.e. lights, TV, fridge, air conditioning)? If so, I do not recommend this switch. I like to start my gen and let it warm up a few minutes before adding the load to it.

I have got to have this wrong because that would make no sense.

Shorepower takes precedence over generator if both are on. It would not switch to generator until shorepower is disconnected.

That being said, there is no logical or scientific reasoning to let things "warm up" before adding a load to your generator.

You are, in fact, with a generator, supposed to start and stop it, without a load. Otherwise, you're dramatically shortening the life of some of the internal components of the power generating ($$$) end of it...

I guess Chaparral runabouts with gen/heat/air, fridges put a lot more space to work inside the electrical boxes than what's inside the Vista.
I takes me longer to open a beer than it does to switch the batt/gen. I can't say that I've ever thought "Man, if this switch would work automatically, that would make my life soo much easier."
As stated above, manuals suggest running your gen for 2 min without load, before and after use. The first time I crank my gen up for the day, it usually takes a few minutes for the choke to open and idle to slow down.

Speaking of Air Conditioning . . .

has anyone had problems with mold in the air handling system,
or with filters?

Is there a filter in the air conditioning???

Recently purchased a 2010 v335 and run the air a LOT.
(South Florida!)

Anyone? Filters ???

Do you know if there's a PDF of the manual online?

Thanks

There's a FOD screen but no "filter".

Mold isn't an issue if you're constantly running it, it will actually keep the mold from growing.

Letting your boat sit in the FL sun without it running in the humidity is when mold grows.

The starter switch for my generator is located on the same panel as the shorepower/generator switch, it's literally 4" to the left.

Barbaric indeed.
