The hight RPM's was a combination of a couple of things. I had the trim tabs down, instead of up... Basically, I was plowing. When I figured that out the RPM were still running extremely high. The boat didn't feel like it was plowing or the engine did sound like it was rev'ing high, so I flicked the RPM gauge and it came back to "normal". How's that for a technical fix? "Just flick the gauge."

I have my survey pics at this site http://picasaweb.google.com/su2skelsey/ ... 4FourWinns

I have some more pics that I will post of our first couple times out. We usually raft-up in the North East River (Upper Chesapeake) on Sunday's and stay out until all the Yahoo's and Cigarette Boat (Gas prices do not seem to be effecting them) go in, watch the Sunset and cruiser back in to our slip. It is a wonderful way to end the weekend. After having a 23 foot Center Console, this boat drives like dream. It handles the waves and wind beautifully. It is a solid, dry ride.

Here's Scott's new 268V:

Nice boat, Scott.

We would have liked to have the green canvas (by default, our last two boats were green .... and our last three Suburbans have been green ..... never looked for green, just happened)

Cap'n Morgan -- Do you have any pic of the interior? My wife could care-o-less about the engine or if the boat floats, she just want to decorate the interior.

Scott

BTW nice boat.... you have great taste.... The only problem I've had on the boat is with the Jabsco head. The raw water intake doesn't seem to work. From what I've read it looks like I need to replace the hand pump assembly. Did you have the same problem or do have another type of head?

Su2,

Email Jabsco support you can find their web site by doing a google search. Tell them what you are experiancing with the head. I did that, and they sent me a new pump diaphragm and joker valve (free).

Sharp boat by the way!

Brett -- Thanks, I was thinking it needed to be primed... I checked the seacock and it is open. When I had it surveyed it worked. But if that is the only thing wrong, I am not going to sweat it.

North East River Temp. is in the lower 70's, now. Just a couple of weeks ago it was in the mid 60's.

I have interiorer pictures that I took last night, but it is plain old stock. We did no decorating to the cabin. In fact, we have added nothing to the boat at all. Everything is stock.

We have the same head, and have never had a problem. We do not bring the lake water in, when we flush , we use the shower head and fresh water to flush. The lake water will make the holding tank stink alot quicker than with fresh water.

Cap'n Morgan -- That's not a bad idea... I was using water from the sink to fill up the head just to see if it would help with the priming. I like the idea of fresh water over river water.

There is not a lot of decorate, but I told my wife I would ask. :)

Scott

Sure looks like fun. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully we can get in the water for some swimming this weekend. Water temp in the inland lakes is about 65 degress, which is good enough for now.

I think our water temps are in the mid 70's. 65 degree's would definitely wake me up... We are in a typical summer weather pattern... chance of thunderstorms throughout the weekend.

Unless the "lake" water is salt water, this isn't true. The stink comes from decaying plankton in the salt water. In true fresh water, as long as you use a treatment for the holding tank (I prefer Thetford CampChem Natural) my holding tank smells fine and dandy.

I always use "raw" water for flushing. If I was on brakish or pure salt, I would use pottable water.
