brijr77, welcome to Four winns and Lake Winnipesaukee.

You should know that starfish is not his forum name, look at the top most line. Just like your name is not guppy.

I have the factory dometic/sealand tank monitors on this boat and on my previous searay. Work great for me. They work by floats, once my float got stuck, but only once. The easy fix is to add soap and ride around for awhile.

I have heard other people switch to this system http://www.snakeriverelectronics.com/Sn ... efault.asp

It works using external sensors, so no fouling the floats with paper and sh!*.

With your gray water system, there are two choices, route the gray water to your existing black-water tank (that's how my searay was done) or add another tank just for gray water. It's easier and cheaper to share tanks, but if you use your shower, you will fill the combined tank pretty darn quick. To add a tank means you need to find space and you need to add a deck pump-out.

thanks jrcinnh i am sure choices II didnt like being called starfish sorry about that. on the grey water tank i bought the system from winnisquam marine for 650 that included everything. they also gave me a good deal on the labor, they are charging me for ten hours. I know it sounds like a lot but i called four winns in michigan and they told me it should take between ten and fifteen hours. I also am still trying to find a place to put her for the season on lake winni and suggestions?

Go to Craigslist for NH. Just go to the BOATS section and search through the listings ... or ... search on "dock" slip" etc. I have seen quite a few listed on Winni.

There are allot of open slips on Winni. Check West Alton Marina.

Best of luck Bill

JSimon,
What you are talking about I beleive is a zipper on the arch. The front canvass and rear canvass meet at the arch and each section zips to the arch, it then also snaps into place. There is a rubber seal on the inside of the canvass that in theroy forms a barrier to keep water out, and I can't recall any water getting in in the past, so maybe it works.

I don't know how to post a pic. but I think I have one I can e-mail you if you desire.

I don't care what you call me. I get the idea you are talking to me.

West Alton marina is a nice facility. You should also check out Mountain View YC (MVYC.BIZ), Gilford Yacht Club and Spinaker Cove. There are lots of empty slips this year. Check the classified ads at winnipesaukee.com.

West Alton is pretty cool, we looked at a 270CR Crownline that was over there, year before last. It's in a sprivate little cove.

All of the places that Bill noted are advetising open slips available.

I have been at West Alton for the past 5 years. This year we are not going back, but if the boat doesn't sell we would go back in a second next year.

Talk to John if you call. It is a great place, but jrcinnh mentioned some other great spots. I am just partial to WAM.

If you go to lake.cc (winni.com as we call it) they have some pictures of the marina in the photo gallery.

Let me know if you would like any specific question answered.

Best of luck Bill

I rented a slip at Mountain View for a season. It's very nice. Three different bath houses, always clean, fuel and pump-out right there, beach right there, repair people right there. Each slip is a condo, so you rent from the owner. Irwin Marine does manage the club and does rent slips for some owners. Prices tend to be high but the market is soft. Downsides: they can get carried away with the rules, sometime silly little things, the docks can be cliquey, the A dock people look down on the B dock people... nothing to worry about.

I now stay at Gilford YC. Much more relaxed atmosphere but much less refined. Two old bath houses, clean but old. Has a pump-out but no fuel. No real beach. No repair services. Very spartan. No management, we self police and have one part time worker. Rules are enforced as needed to maintain order. We love it.

I've got an arch on my 278 and I don't think I have what you are referring to. My front and back canvas snap on top of the arch and yes sometimes it leaks. I had some problems with that last year but have a new slip this year that is under cover and I also purchased a lift so those problems should be over. Last year was a very wet spring here and I'm hoping we don't go through that again this year.
