I think I am just going to go with the flexable strip, would they put out the same amount of light, or are the floods brighter?

248Vista,

Could you explain to us the difference in lighting when you have your strip on vs the flood lights on your tabs?

Do the underwater lights really light up underwater? How cloudy is it where you boat? If u had to choose b/w the strip and the flood lights which one would u choose and why?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Scott,

Did you install the Oznium spots or floods? Their website only has a good shot of their spots installed on a boat in the water - looking forward to seeing yours! Nice job.

248 Vista,

Cool effect with the strip - also looking forward to seeing your pics in water.

I share some of CaptWalts questions about how much they actually light up the water versus a cool under-swimstep effect.

Thanks for posting!

Hi guys. I installed strip lights like 248 Vista and took of couple of pics in the water at night. I'll have to try again as these really don't do the lights any justice, but it will give you an idea of what they look like at night. I went with strips all the way around the platform (with pre-applied tape and a bead of marine sealant top and bottom of the strips; all wired to a matching accessory switch at the dash).

I have tried to get some good pictures of mine, but without a really good camera, you are right, the pics just do not do it justice.

TSR,

When you say you went all the way around the swim platform, you use approx 15 feet of LED strip vs. 6 feet along transom, correct? did you go this route due to the Blue LED not being as bright?

Our Boat is blue, I want to go with the Blue LED as well, swim deck, cockpit and low level in cabin.

Looks good!

Powellcrazy,

I used two 36" strips along the transom and two 48" strips around the platform. I went with blue simply because our boat has blue trim and canvas. I wasn't sure how bright it would be just going along the transom so I did the whole thing. Pretty happy with the results.

Would love to see some additional pics. Has anyone seen these or installed them?

I wonder if white would be better for underwater??

I like the fact the wire is through the back of the unit. According to the faq though, they recommend 3 to 4 to get a good effect.

I have to say that having the led lights above the water line is a little better for my water conditions, which at times is murky. The led lights shine on the water and still look good.
I have two lights that I added last year and will add two more this year.
