Do you have the same engine or the King Cobra? I know people who have the King Cobra and that thing moves with no problem. Also do you know what prop you are using?

Sorry, forgot the drive info. The engine is the 5.8 but I do have the King Cobra Drive. I'm not sure of which prop is on it but I'll be taking the boat out tomorrow. I will check and see if I can some info for you. WOT for me is about 4900 rpm and with the tabs and drive up a little the speedo indicates about 41 mph. Not sure how accurate that is though. Thats with just two of us onboard.

Sorry, plans changed and couldn't get to the boat when I said. After looking at the prop, all I can find anywhere is the number "17" . I bought the boat used and am pretty sure it is the original prop. The boat only has a little over 100 hours and the prop is in decent condition. One more suggestion I did think of- If it wasn't mentioned already, try easing into the throttle as opposed to just hammering it. When I start off from a dead stop to full throttle, it takes about twice the time to plane as it does when I smoothly apply power. The stern digs in and it takes some time to recover. Sorry I can't help you more.
