While it's not a hot-rod, the Rinker 280EC has lot's of room and very good height in the cabin & head (no dinette though, just a standard v-berth and the aft cabin, but large), and a nice big aft cabin. With the Volvo 8.1 & DP it does get up and go, and it will plane at about 15mph (with tabs deployed). Very nice cockpit layout too.

The Sea Ray 280 Sundancer has the 21-degree deadrise and is heavy too, so good for rough conditions. You can get it with the 496 or twin V6 or small-block V8s. It has good headroom plus a dinette. The aft if kind of small-ish though.

Both of these boats are trailerable, with a 3/4 ton rig. They are both about 9-1/2 feet wide, so they are technically in need of a permit , but ...............

We can link boats all day and all night. If you really want to move to a cruiser, you have to get rid of your go fast, be loud mentality. That is rare, if not non existent in a true express cruiser. Especially in the size you mentioned, and if you want to trailer it. Like I said before, you need to go look at a variety of boats BEFORE you decide.

A decent start might be here

Right on, Cappy ..... We only narrowed down to a small handfull of boats, after much initial research. Figure out what looks good on paper, then get on-board at a dealer or a show ... this will eliminate some of the ones that were REALLY nice on paper, then go for sea-trials on the ones that seemed right while on land. And, make sure you get some water time in conditions similar to your normal use ..... number of people, water conditions, etc.

And .... have fun with it!

Good price, but a little older than I want to go. Our Baja is a 1998 and not sure I want to go anything older than that. I want to stick with fuel injection for sure on the motor.

I guess I should have elaborated... I didn't even realize that Donzi made cruisers. A more thorough search on your behalf may find a sweet new ride with the amneties you desire.

As an aside from someone who has been eyeing up boats for awhile (watching the market and looking for the ideal "one" should I sell mine), You will find that any boat that is trailerable will not feel overly spacious... Go to a 10' or 11' beam and all of a sudden you will feel like your in a palace! What about the big picture? Does your tow vehicle allow for a bigger boat? Bigger boat with twins means bigger fuel bills, etc....

I like to calculate all aspects of a move so I can evaluate whether or not the extra $ are worth the change or not...

If you decide you don't need to have sleeping quarters for the entire family, still need to go fast, but not as loud as you are accustomed to, but want most the amenities of a cruiser. This would be a nice choice. Show this one to the wifey, and see what she thinks.......

2000 Formula 330 Sun Sport

Note: some of the pictures look to be two different boats from what I saw. Needs to be verified though.

That does have most of what we are looking for it looks like. I like it. Show it to the wife tonight. Little pricey, but who knows don't need to buy that exact one. We do have a local Formula dealer near us to.

Or....... if you want to stay with Four Winns and go to an express cruiser. The 298 is a great boat.

Very nice (the 330 SS) .... as long as you can deal with not having full headroom.

you could trailer it ....... And .... 770-HP, no less!
