Well....I am sticking to my story here boys! :) in 7 yrs, kids gone, if admiral and I can not make it on a 378, then we are really screwed! The primary reason for diesels is our intent to do the great loop (in chunks if necessary) after the kids are gone, so we are fairly confident that the 378 will meet those desires. Only thing that I wish the 378 had was the enclosed (3 side) cockpit like the 435 has...but after seeing what they can do with Makrolon (rigid panels) we may just bite the bullet done the line and enclose the front of the hard top and a portion of the sides with rigid panels...but we will see. I have had chronic 3 ft'itis for years...hoping that the 378 is the cure.

The other thing I noticed...as I have gotten older, and received promotions in my career, the amount of boat I can comfortably afford has gone up...so...alas I succumb to the desire for a "bigger" boat!

Isn't it funny how that works? I remember 20 years ago I thought that if I ever made as much money as I do today that I would be all set. But the more we made, the more we spent. Dept store clearance rack clothes turn into Gap and then into Ralph Lauren. Applebee's turns into Outback turns into Ruths Chris or Mortons. A 10 year old new to me Saturn turns into a brand new Hyundai into a 5 year old new to me Acura to a brand new Audi. The 24' this is big enough boat turns into a 31' this should hold us for a while cruiser.

Winedown...yep, I know exactly what you are talking about! Thank GOD, that we have been able to keep in check most things except....boats!  But...somehow we continue to "justify" the expense because we have had so many great times and memories with friends, family, etc, that we could not put a price on those...so here we go again.

At least you have good taste in cars. (I work for an Acura dealer and our company also owns an Audi dealership)
