Hi to all!!!

It goes back to what I mentioned, What is right for you!!! I have owned 4 boats before, but this one with hot water. We do over night trips, every Wednesday night (boating season only) to break up the week. We now love having the hot water on board to take a shower!!! Oh, we boat in salt water, so dipping in to wash off, well I'll pass!!!

One thing I do when leaving the slip, turn the city water OFF. If a hose were to break, there would be a endless amount of water pouring in.

i did this repair last summer on my 2000 vista 298. The water heater is on the port side. To remove the heater and install the new one I had to remove both aft deck hatch cover. The one for the engine compartment and the back cover as well. The then had to remove all three batteries from the engine area as well. The 6 gallon heater had to slide forward and then to starboard to be able to lift it out on an angle. Follow the opposite steps when installing. I was unable to fit a larger water heater into the boat, so i used the same model I removed.

There are a few tankless propane water heaters. Our friends have one mounted in the aft locker and it works great.

This info is gold. Thanks for the response. You gotta love the forum! Now, the big question for me is is... do you have a generator? Seems to me the area between the generator and the engines is the squeeze.
